Emerald M Therapeutic Riding Center provides a tranquil, safe, and therapeutic environment to meet the needs of children, ages two to eighteen, seeking non-traditional therapeutic options through interaction with our horses and our highly trained staff. We offer physical therapy incorporating hippotherapy, reading intervention, adaptive riding, emotional and behavioral health support, and therapeutic alternatives for pediatric cancer patients.
Our farm rests on 20 acres overlooking horse pastures and hay fields and sits on top of a beautiful, scenic hill near the quiet town of Brooksville, Florida. Located on the property is a large 8-stall barn with lofty ceilings, cement aisle ways, and plenty of ventilation. Our barn was thoughtfully constructed to decrease the noises and scents commonly associated with horses. In addition, our office, feed room, tack room, and treatment room, which are in the barn, are equipped with central heating and air conditioning. Our property, barn, treatment room, and Ansley’s Army of Angels Equine Assisted Learning Center are all accessible.
On the southwest corner of our property, you will discover Ansley’s Army of Angels Equine Assisted Learning Center which was built in memory of one of our participants, seven-year-old Ansley Johnson.
The Center provides a quiet space where we conduct several emotional and behavioral health programs. It is also used for private one-on-one counseling, family counseling, and group support sessions. Ansley’s Army of Angels Equine Assisted Learning Center was fully funded by community donations.
