Emerald M Therapeutic Riding Center, Inc. sits on top of a beautiful, scenic hill near the quiet town of Brooksville, Florida. The Farm is on a 20-acre property overlooking horse pastures and hay fields. Located on the property is a large handicap accessible, 8-stall barn with high ceilings, cement aisle ways, and plenty of ventilation. Our office, feed room, tack room, and treatment room are all located in the barn and all under central air conditioning. The riding arena is located directly behind our barn with a wheelchair accessible ramp for mounting horses. We are currently fundraising to build a full steel cover, over our arena space, to provide shade to our participants. This will allow us to to continue their services during the hottest months of the year in Florida (June-October).
On the southwest corner of the property, you will find Ansley’s Army of Angels Equine Assisted Learning Center. This center is fully handicap accessible and houses our emotional and behavioral health programs. The Center provides space for private counseling, family group counseling, and support group sessions. This Center was fully funded by community donations and was built in honor of 7 year old Ansley Johnson, one of our late participants.
Emerald M Therapeutic Riding Center provides a tranquil, serene, safe, and therapeutic environment to address the needs of children and adults seeking physical therapy incorporating hippotherapy, adaptive riding, and/or emotional and behavioral health support through the interaction with our 11 equines and our highly trained staff and volunteers.
